Cornered back home for his "man of peace" remarks about his Pakistani counterpart Yusuf Raza Gilani at the ongoing SAARC summit in Maldives, Prime Minister Manmohan Singh on Saturday went on the offensive stating that the ties between the two countries were far from normal.

Addressing media persons, Dr Singh said: "Any 26/11-type of attack in future will derail the peace process and trade ties between the two countries."

The prime minister further said, "It will be difficult to carry the peace process forward if the Indian public opinion is not satisfied with the justice that is meted out to the perpetrators of the barbarous 26/11 attacks on Mumbai."
