US: Indian woman, two children found dead

Last updated on: June 10, 2009 19:52 IST

In an apparent case of murder-suicide, a woman of Indian origin and her two children were found dead in the family's home in Delta Township, west of Lansing, Michigan in United States.

The dead victims were identified as Brigeethamma Shajimon, 40, Alwin Shajimon Thomas, 10, and Alfred Shajimon Thomas, 5, by the Eaton County Sheriff's Office.

Brigeethamma's husband Shajimon Thomas called the police on Monday evening. He told the police that he had found the bodies in his home at Plum Tree Apartments.

Eaton County Sheriff Mike Raines told the media that it appears to be a case of homicide-suicide.

The autopsies have been completed, but the police are waiting for the toxicology reports.

"It appears to be a homicide-suicide, but the case is still under investigation. I'm a father myself. It's a very horrible situation. My heartfelt thoughts and prayers go out to friends and anybody who might know the family," Raines said.

Neighbours told the media that the family had no apparent problems and seemed to be a normal one.
