The Indian Army on Friday conveyed its concern about a recent infiltration attempt on the Line of Control to the Pakistan army in the flag meeting held between the commanders of the two countries at Chakan da Bagh in Poonch district of Jammu region.

“A flag meeting at brigade commanders' level was held   between Indiaand Pakistan Friday at Chakan-Da-Bagh crossing point near Poonch,” a defence spokesman said in a statement.

“Both delegations were led by brigadier level officers and discussed various issues related to the ceasefire agreement as well as the need to improve responsiveness of existing communication channels,” the statement said.

“The Indian Army's concerns about the infiltration attempt in the Krishna Ghati sector on January 13 were conveyed in strong terms to the Pakistan delegation.”

“The talks were held in a cordial environment and both sides have agreed to give due consideration to the issues raised by the other side. This meeting is another step forward in the confidence building measures agreed to by both sides during the DGMOs' level talk held at Wagah on December 24 last year," the statement added.

There had been several ceasefire violations by Pakistan on the LoC and international border last year in Jammu region.

The Indian and Pakistan armies are holding to a bilateral ceasefire on the LoC and on the international border since November 2003 which had been largely holding.
