Even as the investigations into the alleged wrong doings of senior home ministry bureaucrat Ravi Inder Singh continue, the police have found that he had passed on information regarding decisions on telecom-related matters.

Although it was suspected that he could have leaked information relating to security matters pertaining to Jammu and Kashmir and also the Naxal problem, which he was privy to, investigations have found that no such information had been leaked.

An officer involved in the probe told rediff.com that his interrogation had led to another man by the name of Vineet, a businessman from West Bengal who is believed to have been acting as a middle man between the telecom company and Singh.

The interrogation has led to shocking details about the manner in which the two are alleged to have dealt with the issue. It was found that Vineet had gifted Singh four mobile phones that were used while striking deals.

When the two conversed in coded language, Singh is alleged to have demanded financial favours in exchange for crucial information regarding telecom companies and is also believed to have shared the file notings of the home department.

The Intelligence Bureau had kept a watch on both these men and it was during one such conversation that the duo's crime was nailed.

Sources said Vineet was once heard telling some people that he could get work done in the telecom sector, as he was close to a man in the home ministry who was privy to confidential information regarding the sector.
