A day after her release 17-year old backward community girl allegedly raped by a Bahujan Samaj Party member of Legislative Assembly and later framed in a fake theft case spoke to mediapersons about her trauma at her village Shahbazpur, Uttar Pradesh.

"After raping me twice at his house, where I was held captive for four days, Dwivedi's henchmen raped me. He then asked me to marry one of his servants, but when I refused the MLA brandished his gun and threatened to shoot me," said the teenager.

The victim said accused the police of beating her while the legislator's brother watched. "Even after I managed to slip out of the MLA's house on the fourth day, I was chased by his henchmen and his brother who beat me up and dragged me to the police station. The cops did not spare me either. They assaulted me before booking me for stealing Rs 5,000 and a mobile phone from Dwivedi's house. The MLA's brother Raja watched all of this," the girl said.

Accusing the Nairaini police station sub-inspector Jabbar Ahmad of harassing her she said, "I will get justice only after each of the culprits as well as the policemen were punished. They all should be hanged; they all deserve to die. "

The teenager was released following a direction from Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Mayawati,

who faced severe embarrassment over the incident involving her party MLA and the Allahabad high court ordered that the girl be "released forthwith from jail unconditionally" and "adequate security" be provided to the alleged victim and her family.

According to the girl, she was jailed at the behest of the MLA on false theft charges. The Banda Superintendent of Police Anil Kumar Das also put pressure on her to withdraw the rape case against the MLA. "The superintendent of police spent hours in my cell in the Banda jail trying to intimidate me so that I would withdraw the case. I had made up my mind not to given into the pressure even if he continued to harass me," the victim said.

On Sunday, the girl's hutment in Shahbazpur village was swarmed by a large number of Samajwadi Party activists led the party's national general secretary Bishambhar Nishad. He demanded stringent action and a time- bound trial of the BSP MLA and the cops involved.
Nishad also offered to give shelter to the girl and her family in Banda. "They will be safe from any kind of retaliation by the BSP MLA and his goons," he said.

However, the police did not allow the victim and her family to go to Banda saying they were bound by duty and had to provide protection to her on the direction of the Allahabad HC.
