Mirwaiz Umar Farooq, chairman of All Parties Hurriyet Conference, has denied newspaper reports that he met Inter-Services Intelligence chief Lt General Shuja Pasha during his Europe visit.

Speaking to rediff.com, Mirwaiz claimed that he had gone Brussels to attend a conference on Kashmir.

"I did not go to Geneva," he said. News reports had alleged that he made an overnight journey to Geneva for a meet with Pasha, after which, he returned to Brussels.

"I don't know where the media got that idea from. This sort of reporting is known as speculative journalism and very harmful. They are trying to show the APHC in a bad light," he said.

Mirwaizsaid added that the that Hurriyat conference has its own agenda, and that's what he was in Brussels for.

"Other who attended the conference with me were Mullah Fazulur Rehman, Sherry Rehman, Naseem Zehara and delegates from Nawaz Sharif's party. Dilip Padgoankar, Siddarth Vardharajan and some others were also invited, but apparently they were not allowed by the Indian government to leave the country," he said.

Talking about the terrorist attack on Pakistan naval base, Mirwaiz said that it was most probably carried out by the Al Qaeda to avenge Osama bin Laden's death.

"The attack is unfortunate and a cause of concern. Violence in any form needs to be condemned. Terrorists are now becoming a major threat to the peace in the world," Mirwaiz told rediff.com.
