India to host sixth Global Issues Forum

The US has said that India will host the sixth US-India Global Issues Forum in New Delhi on Thursday.

"The US-India Global Issues Forum develops new and expanded areas for cooperation between the two countries on multilateral issues such as the promotion of democracy, health, environmental protection, and human rights," the State Department spokesman said in a statement.

Under Secretary for Democracy and Global Affairs Paula J Dobriansky will lead the delegation which includes Assistant Secretary for Oceans, Environment, and Science Claudia McMurray and Assistant Secretary for Democracy, Human Rights and Labour David J Kramer.

The forum has been convened annually since 2002 and alternates between the two countries.
