Hope Anna realises the Bill is not what he wanted: AAP

December 18, 2013 21:39 IST

Not satisfied with the Lokpal bill passed by the Parliament today, Aam Aadmi Party leader Yogendra Yadav said the bill was not in the form as asked for and the political class would continue to "rule the Lokpal".

"There are three promises made by Parliament to Anna Hazare that have not been fulfilled. The political class will continue to rule the Lokpal," Yadav told media persons in Chennai.

About Hazare accepting the Lokpal bill passed, Yadav said, "I hope Anna realises the Bill is not what he wanted but he has accepted it. We do not accept the bill in this form."

To a query on the existing political uncertainty in Delhi after Assembly polls, he said, "I do agree we have the moral mandate. However, we do not have the numeric majority to form government. That's why we are asking the people on what to do."

Commenting on the results in Delhi polls, he said for the first time, it appeared that at least someone can take on these big parties and fight elections without money power.

"Aam Aadmi Party represents the voice of hope. We are getting reports that there is huge enthusiasm across country. We are trying to assess the response in other states and then discuss the Lok Sabha polls strategy," he said, when asked about AAP's strategy for the elections next year.

On AAP's SMS poll response, Yadav said, "Don't know the numbers but overwhelming response. We do not want to make it public."

To a query on divided opinions within party on government formation and on Arvind Kejriwal personally not willing to form the government, Yadav said, "I'm happy a political party is honest; yes we are in a moral dilemma and that is why we are taking the opinion of the people."

In response to claims that money was reportedly spent to create rift between Kejriwal and Hazare, he said, "I would not have the evidence to prove this but I am surprised at the sudden respect for Anna from BJP and Congress is suspicious. The media also played games. There should be some one to investigate motives of the people behind this."
