Hazare movement woos foreign tourists

The Anna Hazare movement, which has not only gripped the nation, has also caught the fancy of the average foreign tourist.

Joesph Flinn, a tourist from Iceland was highly appreciative of the manner in which such a huge movement has been conducted by Team Anna, and the extreme restraint shown by the government.

"The movement has been in the news on our television channels and newspapers, as well radio networks for a while now. Though I live in Delhi, but until Monday I did not find time to visit the Ramlila grounds," he said.

"I got a chance on Monday, and spent four hour at the grounds. I am delighted to be part of such a non-violent movement," he told rediff.com. 

Ragbir Luthra, who reached Delhi on Monday morning, dumped his bags in the hotel and after a quick breakfast jumped in a cab to reach Ramlila ground.

"I live in London and am here for some personal work. But then I thought to myself, that that work can wait. I just couldn't wait to see the events which have been making news on all the British channels," he said.

"I am happy to have become a part of it. Half the work here does not get done unless we pay a government official. I hope this movement has the desired," he said.

An Israeli couple too was moved by the non-violent movement. "We have been visiting the Ramlila Grounds for the last two days, but have not witnessed an untoward incident," they said.
