More than three months after militants triggered blasts in two movie halls in New Delhi, police on Saturday filed a chargesheet against top Babbar Khalsa terrorist Jagtar Singh Hawara and seven others in connection with the explosion at Satyam cinema.

The special cell of Delhi Police, which investigated the May 22 blasts, submitted the chargesheet before Duty Magistrate Paramjeet Singh in which all the accused have been charged with offences including waging war against the Government of India.

Besides Hawara, who is also facing trial in connection with the assassination of former Punjab Chief Minister Beant Singh and the Burail jail break case, others named in the chargesheet are Jaspal Singh, Jagannath Yadav, Balvinder, Vikas Sehgal, Ajit Raj, Bishan Lal and Joginder Kumar.

All of them have been charged under Sections 121 (waging war against the government of India), 122 (collecting arms for waging war) 123 (concealment of intention to wage war), 120 B (criminal conspiracy) of Indian Penal Code.

They are also charged under the Explosives Act, Arms Act and Unlawful Activities Prevention Act.

Police has filed separate First Information Reports in the Satyam and Liberty blast cases in which one person was killed and 55 were injured.

Chargesheet in the Liberty blast is expected soon. The hearing of the case is being held at the additional chief metropolitan magistrate's court. The police was forced to submit the chargesheet on a holiday before a duty magistrate, as the mandatory 90-day-period to file the same in the Satyam blast case will lapse on Sunday.
