The Special Maharashtra Control of Organised Crime Act court Monday issued non-bailable warrants against gutka barons J M Joshi, Rasiklal Dhariwal and Pakistan-based Dawood Ibrahim, his brother Anees and an associate in the gutka-underworld nexus case.

Central Bureau of Investigation officer A Balaji this evening met MCOCA Judge Ashok Bhangale in his chamber following which the judge issued the warrants against the five.

Dhariwal and J M Joshi are said to have supplied gutka pouch making machinery to Anees Ibrahim to set up production facility at Dubai and Karachi.

Now, the CBI will file a supplementary chargesheet against Joshi and Dhariwal in the MCOCA court on March 2 as Mumbai Police Chief A N Roy last week gave sanction to book them under the provisions of the stringent act.

The case was opened when co-accused Jamaruddin alias Jumbo, arrested in an extortion case in October 2004, revealed the names of Joshi and Dhariwal during his interrogation.

On December 31, 2004, another MCOCA court Judge Abhay Thipsay had also issued non-bailable warrants against the duo, which were, however, cancelled by Supreme Court.
