The abduction case of Golu, a nine-year-old schoolboy in Patna, has taken a new twist on Wednesday with the police claiming that he has been taken to Uttar Pradesh. They have also added that the abductors have close links with a Bharatiya Janata Party leader in UP.

"The abducted boy is now in UP," said Kundan Krishna, Senior Superintendent of Police, Patna. "We also believe that the kidnapper might have links with a particular BJP leader."

Golu, a class 4 student of DAV school was kidnapped in Patna about two weeks ago.

Krishna told newspersons that Golu was kept somewhere on the Bihar-UP border. It was also disclosed that the abductor has been involved in cases similar to this one. He is also believed to have links with senior politicians in Bihar's Buxar and Bhojpur districts.

The Patna High Court has issued a deadline of October 7 to the police to find Golu.
