The mother of a nine-year-old Russian girl, who was allegedly raped at Arambol beach, has said the crime was pre-planned.

"My husband left for Moscow on January 25. Since, the morning of January 26, the accused saw me alone and were trying to get too friendly with me to which I was not comfortable with," the lady, who is a doctor by profession, told PTI.

Goa Police had registered case a rape case against an unidentified person, who allegedly took the victim in the water and raped her on January 26.

The accomplice of the accused kept the mother busy in conversation while the crime was being committed, the complaint at Pernem police station reads.

The woman said the resources available with the police are very little. "Even for the sketch of the accused person, there was no computer and it was being done by hand," she claimed.

The lady said she wanted the criminal arrested soon.

"When criminals rape a child, they must not be protected but must be arrested. I hope that the Goa Police can arrest them soon," she said.

The victim has helped the officials of the Russian consulate draw a sketch of the accused. She also told them how she was dragged to the water and raped.

Police conducting raids

Goa Police is conducting searches to track down the accused involved in the rape.

"We are raiding guest houses (in and around Arambol) to locate the person and his accomplice based on the details provided by the victim's mother," Superintendent of Police (North) Bosco George told PTI.

"There is a language difficulty, and also sketches drawn earlier and the details provided by the mother about the accused looks are not matching."

Pernem police station, which has registered a case under Indian Penal Code and also the Goa Children's Act, is working on the clues provided by the victim's mother, another officer said.
