4,000 NE students back in Bengaluru

August 22, 2012 19:44 IST

After the exodus in which 29, 636 Indians from northeast left Bengaluru, a special train on Wednesday ferried back 4,000 of them back to the city.

However, the train comprised only students. Interestingly, most of the students who returned to Bengaluru were accompanied by their parents. They said they wanted to be with their children for some time since they were worried about their safety.

Among the crowd of 4,000 there were around 154 fresh faces too who came into Bengaluru for the first time. These students had got admissions in private colleges and were coming to the city since their classes are to begin soon.

Another train is expected later on Wednesday night. It is likely that it may too may have only students. Working-class people are expected to return in a couple of days.
