Fog clears, flight operations normal at Delhi airport

December 26, 2012 11:27 IST

After three days of dense fog, operations at the Indira Gandhi International Airport in New Delhi remained largely normal on Wednesday.

Though there was shallow fog in the morning, visibility remained above 1,500 metres and flight operations were normal with departures and arrivals as per schedule, airport sources said.

Some flights were delayed and some cancelled, but due to operational reasons, they said.

Flight operations were badly hit at the IGI Airport due to dense fog for the past three days, leading to delay in the schedules of hundreds of aircraft.

The visibility at the airport remained above 2,000 metres early in the morning, but it dropped between 1,300 and 1,500 metres around 7.30 am.

However, the drop in visibility caused no disruption in flight operations.
