Flashlights disturb me: Rahul to photojournalists

December 08, 2009 16:30 IST
Congress general secretary Rahul Gandhi on Tuesday requested photojournalists in Lucknow not to flash lights during the press conference as it 'disturbs' him while answering their queries.

Arriving over an hour late for the conference, Gandhi requested the photojournalists to click pictures and then vacate the area in front of the seating arrangement and not to flash their lights as it 'disturbs me while making a reply.'

"You will have the opportunity to click pictures after the press conference," he said.

Gandhi also apologised on behalf of the Youth Congress, (the organisers of the conference) for the inconvenience caused due to the delay and in a lighter vein quipped, "These days I am apologising for everyone."

With regard to Uttar Pradesh Congress Committee president Rita Bahuguna Joshi's statement that his chopper landed in zero visibility conditions in Sitapur on Monday evening, he said, "It has been misunderstood and she is not a pilot."

On whether Gandhi plans to visit Sanjarpur in Azamgarh where several Muslim youths have been arrested on terror charges, the All India Congress Committee general secretary Digvijay Singh said a list of such youths and their status was being prepared.
