Five arrested for raping Bangalore law student

October 20, 2012 14:58 IST

The Bangalore police on Saturday arrested five people in connection with the alleged gang-rape of a 21-year old student of the National Law School in the Bangalore University campus.

The second-year student, who stays in the university hostel, said the incident took place when she had gone out with her boy-friend, who works with an IT firm.

She said that while they were walking in the wooded area of the campus, eight inebriated men attacked them and forcibly took them into the deep forest.

The gang demanded money from her boyfriend, who told them that he had left his wallet in his car.

He was asked to fetch the money, and during his absence, she was sexually assaulted, the female law student claimed in her complaint.
