Two jawans of the Border Security Force were killed and another injured when a BSF jawan, in an inebriated condition, fired indiscriminately at Rajbari border outpost in south Tripura district, police said in Agartala on Thursday.

Dhananjoy Kumar, who was in an inebriated condition, suddenly opened indiscriminate fire. Two jawans were killed on the spot and two others were injured, said Deputy Inspector General of Police Nepal Das.

The deceased were identified as Sanjoy Kumar and Anil Kumar. The injured jawan, Mohammad Aslam Ali, has been admitted to Raisyabari hospital in the district. His condition was reportedly critical.

Immediately after the incident, the inebriated jawan was overpowered and disarmed.

Director General of BSF Raman Srivastav had on Wednesday visited the border outpost at Rajbari.
