DMK seminar in Delhi on Tamil issue a flop show

March 07, 2013 19:47 IST

The Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam sponsored Tamil Eelam Supporters Organisation conference in Delhi was a dud with major opposition parties like the Janata Dal-United, Biju Janata Dal and Bharatiya Janata Party staying away.

The meeting which started an hour late saw DMK party workers frantically running around to organise MPs from other parties.

They however managed to get the Lok Janshakti Party!

Nationalist Congress Party leader Supriya Sule made a brief appearance but left even before the programme began.

Two Tamil journalists who walked up to speak with DMK’s Stalin were snubbed and shooed away by Dayanidhi Maran.

DMK leaders Kanimozhi and Stalin spoke briefly in English, which was followed by the screening of the channel four film on ‘Sri Lanka’s killing fields’.

Surprisingly, after the screening, T R Baalu asked the media to leave saying ‘we will do a presser later’. As a shocked media slowly started to disperse, an irritated Baalu announced again, ‘Did you not hear what I said, media please leave!’
