Barely a month after former Prime Minister V P Singh died, a dispute among his family members over inheritance of ancestral property has come to light.

Akshay Pratap Singh, grandson of the leader, yesterday approached local police after he was allegedly thrown out of Singh's ancestral palace at Manda, about 60 kms from the city, police said today.

The former Prime Minister, who died on November 26, was born in a royal family in Daiya, and was later adopted by his uncle, who was erstwhile ruler of Manda estate.

Akshay's father Abhay Pratap is Singh's younger son.

According to report Akshay who had gone for a stay at the palace was asked to leave the premises by the estate manager who claimed he had been directed by his uncle and

Singh's elder son Ajey to do so.

When Akshay protested, he was allegedly thrown out by the employees even as his car and other belongings remained inside the mansion.

The former PM's grandson later approached the local police to lodge a complaint.

"We went to the palace where we were shown a copy of the will made by the former prime minister and registered in the name of Singh's eldest son Ajey Pratap Singh," Circle Officer, Meja, Sahansarpal Singh told PTI.

Akshay, thereafter, collected his belongings from the palace and moved to a nearby guest house, and is waiting to meet his uncle Ajey sources close to the family said.

None of the members of the family, however, were available for comment.
