After bringing the beleaguered singer from Delhi, where he was detained on Friday, police produced him before Duty Magistrate Satpal. The Patiala police is expected to seek his police remand. He had earlier appeared twice before police in October for questioning in the case.

The Punjab police registered a case against Daler Mehndi and six others after Bakshish Singh of Balbehra village in Patiala district alleged that the singer had taken money to send him abroad but failed to keep his promise.

Before entering the court premises, the singer claimed he was being falsely implicated in the case and that the Punjab police had demanded Rs 1.5 crore to 'settle' the case.
