Cops find threatening e-mails sent by Indrani to Sheena

September 11, 2015 08:12 IST

‘You both will be disinherited if you act smart,’ that’s what one of the e-mails sent by Indrani Mukerjea to her daughter Sheena Bora read.

The Mumbai’s Khar police probing the murder, which has caused sensation and ripples, found three e-mails in Sheena’s inbox while scrutinising Indrani’s laptop.

One of the mails in which Indrani threatened to disinherit both – Sheena and Mikhail – was sent on March 8, 2012, police sources have revealed. In her mail, Indrani also threatened to stop monthly payments of Rs 40,000 each to both of them.

The investigation of the Sheena Bora case hit an apparent roadblock when Mumbai’s top cop Rakesh Maria was shunted out. However, amidst questions, the state government announced that Maria would still be investigating the case.

On September 7, the police claimed a breakthrough when forensic tests confirmed that the DNA samples of the skeletal remains exhumed from the Raigad forests matched those of Indrani Mukerjea and Mikhail Bora.
