Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, Congress President Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi along with party top brass will be present at the All India Congress Committee headquarters onFriday as Congress completes 127 years of its existence.

The party chief will hoist the Congress tri-colours at 24 Akbar Road to mark the occassion and is expected to interact with senior party leaders in her AICC office.

A senior leader said that similar programmes will be organised in all the state and district party headquarters where leaders of the respective regions will be participating.

The Congress is fresh from its win in Himachal Pradesh elections, where the party ousted the Bharatiya Janata Party from power. The victory on the controversial issue of FDI in retail in Parliament just secured by the Congress and its government and the optimism within the party generated by the positive feedback of its recently announced direct cash transfers have brought cheers to the party.

The party is also making preparations for Chintan Shivir in Jaipur next month ahead of the Lok Sabha polls to generate new ideas. Changes in the AICC secretariat are likely anytime now which is expected to bring out the 'war team' of the party ahead of the next battle of the ballot.
