Cong-NCP gets 37.38 per cent votes in Maharashtra

The ruling Congress-Nationalist Congress Party in Maharashtra has garnered 37.38 per cent of the total votes polled in the just concluded assembly polls.

Congress, which became the single largest party with 82 seats got 21.01 per cent while NCP which bagged 62 seats polled 16.37 per cent votes.

The tally of 82 seats is the Congress party's most impressive since 1999 after the formation of NCP.

Shiv Sena with 44 seats got 16.26 per cent and Bharatiya Janata Party with 46 seats polled 14.02 per cent.

The others which includes the Maharashtra Navnirman Sena, the Third Front and independents who account for 54 seats polled 28.25 per cent votes.
