Maharashtra Chief Minister Vilasrao Deshmukh on Tuesday visited Thane and adjoining areas affected by heavy rains since last week.
Deshmukh inspected the distribution of relief material at various places including Ulhasnagar, Kalyan, Badlapur, Ambernath, Kolsewadi, Kausa, Mumbra and Thane city, official sources told PTI.

In his absence, the routine press briefing at Mantralaya on the state-wide flood situation was addressed by his ministerial colleague Patangrao Kadam.
