Chopper crash: Ex-gratia relief for victim from J&K

The Jammu and Kashmir government on Wednesday paid an ex-gratia relief of Rs 1 lakh to the next of kin of Bhim Singh, a member of the National Disaster Management Force team, who perished in a chopper crash in Uttarakhand while carrying out rescue operations.

An official statement on Wednesday evening said, “The Minister of State for Home, Sajjad Ahmad Kichloo today visited the residence of late Bhim Singh in Kathua district, who died in a tragic chopper crash while carrying out rescue operations in Uttarakhand and conveyed heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family on behalf of chief minister, Omar Abdullah.”            

Kichloo gave a relief cheque amounting to Rs 1 lakh to the bereaved family and assured a government job to the spouse of the deceased.

He conveyed his heartfelt sympathies to the bereaved family.
