New ministers prepare to chart course

Shiv Sena leader Subodh Mohite on Monday took over as heavy industries and public enterprises minister while Bharatiya Janata Party leader Kashiram Rana assumed the charge of minister of rural development.

B C Khanduri, who was elevated to Cabinet rank in the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways, also took charge on Monday.

Rajiv Pratap Rudy, who was given independent charge of the civil aviation ministry, joined work.

Ministers for Social Justice and Empowerment, Nagmani and Kailash Meghwal and Minister of State for Coal Prahlad Patel also joined office.

Vijay Goel took charge as the minister of state for sports and youth affairs.

While Agriculture Minister Rajnath Singh, Minister of State for Home Affairs Swamy Chinmayanand, Minister of State for Labour Santosh Gangwar and Minister of State for Human Resource Development Sanjay Paswan will take over on Tuesday, Textiles Minister Shahnawaz Hussain will join office on Wednesday.
