BSF apprehends 5 Pak nationals in Kutch

April 05, 2012 00:03 IST

Five Pakistani nationals have been apprehended by the Border Security Force from Harami Nala in the district for entering India illegally.

They entered the Indian territory on Tuesday apparently after sailing for over two days in Pakistani waters in search of fish. All of them are residents of Thatta district in Sindh province, an official said.

"It seems that they entered Indian territory (by boat) after failing to find any catch in the sea in last few days," he said.

The arrested men include boat owner Abdreman Aamad Hasan (35). Two of them are minors.

They were handed over to police in Kutch and their interrogation was underway, the official said.

In the last fortnight, 59 Pakistani fishermen have been arrested for trespassing into Indian waters, including the fourteen held near Jakhau coast in Kutch district on Tuesday.
