Bihar govt to open call centre for people's complaints

In an innovative move, the first of its kind in India, the Bihar government will open a call centre for registering complaints and grievances of the people. It will be a free toll number to enable the poorest of the poor to make calls.

"The government will open the call centre soon to provide an opportunity for people to register grievances through a simple telephone call," Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar said.

Nitish Kumar said all complaints to the call centre would be taken by the concerned department officials. "People won't have to run from here to there to register complaints against corrupt government officials or irregularities in developmental work," Nitish Kumar said.

He said as his number one priority was and is "governance", the call centre for complaints will further help people as well as the government.
