All eyes are set on the Supreme Court on Monday, which is scheduled to hear the petition challenging the dissolution of the Bihar Assembly.

The Janata Dal-United and Bharatiya Janata Party leaders were eagerly awaiting the verdict of the court on the petition challenging the dissolution of the Bihar Assembly.

"The hearing of the petition in the Supreme Court is the last hope for us," said Janata Dal-United leader Upendra Kuswaha.

The petition was filed on May 31 by four former legislators -- Rameshwar Prasad Chaurasia (BJP), Kishore Kumar Munna (Independent), Rampravesh Rai (JD-U) and Dr Anil Kumar (breakaway Lok Janshakti Party), who were all elected in the 2005 elections

In June 2005, a National Democratic Alliance delegation led by BJP president Lal Kishenchand Advani and JD-U chief George Fernandes lodged a strong protest with President A P J Abdul Kalam and urged him to undo the 'unconstitutional' act.

Earlier, Advani and Fernandes led a march on behalf of the JD-U and rebel LJP MLAs of the dissolved House to Rashtrapati Bhavan to present a memorandum to Kalam.
