Army man tries to abduct girl, arrested in Hyderabad

January 07, 2013 20:31 IST
An army man was on Monday taken into custody by the Neredmet police in Hyderabad for allegedly trying to abduct and misbehave with a 19-year-old girl student, police said.

Pramod Reddy, working as a sepoy in Bollarum, allegedly misbehaved with the B.Com student and attempted to abduct her in defence colony under Neredmet Police station limits, they said quoting the complaint lodged by her.

Police said the girl raised an alarm and the locals, who rushed to her rescue, caught hold of the army man and handed him over to police.

Following a complaint, police lodged a case against the army man on the charge of attempt to kidnap, and took him into custody. Further investigations were on.
