Last updated on: August 23, 2011 22:00 IST

Amidst the sloganeering and singing by protestors at Ramlila Maidan in Delhi on Tuesday, a visibly frail Anna Hazare made a brief appearance on stage. "The team of doctors is worried about my health, especially my kidney problem. I will introspect and then take a call at 10 pm tonight," said Anna Hazare.

Anna said he was not afraid to die, "Dil diya hai jaan bhi denge (I'm sacred of dying)," he said. Even as his health deteroriated and doctors advised him to get hospitalised, Anna Hazare, who has been fasting for more than a week, refused to do so.

"If anybody from government tries to forcibly evict me from here, you people should block the gate," Hazare told his supporters at Ramlila.

There has been a steady buildup of police presence at Ramlila ground ever since Anna Hazare's health started deteriorating. Members of Hazare's group have appealed to people to pray for his health.
