An American woman, who had come to the city to take back her surrogate son to Jamaica, had to return empty-handed after running from pillar to post for the necessary travel documents of the baby.
Pearl Linda Van Buren Green, married to a Jamaican Eric Dalton Green, had come to Hyderabad last month to take home their surrogate son named Emperor.

The baby was born to a 30-year-old surrogate mother at a fertility center in Hyderabad on December 7, after the couple entered in to an understanding with her and the centre.
Green was not allowed to leave the country with the baby, as his status was unclear and she did not have any travel documents for him.
Initially she tried to make a passport from the regional passport office in Hyderabad. But after her efforts failed to elicit a response from the authorities, Green created a flutter at the office on January 25 when she left the baby there.
Later, the police located her with the help of the documents she left behind with the baby. The authorities had assured her all the possible help. Subsequently, she flew to New Delhi to meet central government officials and an honourary consul of Jamaica. However, she drew a blank there and was advised to return to Jamica and procure a passport for the baby there.
Consequently, leaving the baby at the Rama's Institute of Fertility in Secunderabad, Green has returned to Jamaica hoping to return in a week's time with baby's passport.
