At a time when the Centre is pushing ahead with the Clean Ganga mission, Allahabad ADM (Nazul) OP Shrivastav was caught apparently relieving himself in Ganga-Yamuna-Saraswati Triveni Sangam.

Ironically, the unholy act took place while the senior officer was at the spot for the press conference in connection with the upcoming 'Triveni Mahotsav'.

The festival is scheduled to be held on February 23.

A probe was ordered into the matter after massive outrage was expressed on social media.

The Triveni Sangam is the confluence of three rivers -- Ganga, Yamuna and Saraswati -- and is considered to be a sacred place for Hindus.

Shrivastav, however, denied the allegation.

He told ANI, "I was 15-20 feet away from the river. Like any other Hindu I also respect 'Triveni Sangam' a lot. I would not do such a thing. I was just washing hands and adjusting my pants. Was not urinating."

See for yourself and decide.
