With stakes high in the Lok Sabha polls, the Bharatiya Janata Party on Sunday warned its rank and file that indiscipline
and infighting would be sternly dealt with.

The warning came from none other than the party's PM candidate L K Advani who said those engaged in "self goals"
were causing "huge damages" to themselves.

"We all know that we lost Rajasthan and Delhi due to our self goals. Those who were behind this self goal should understand that they may have damaged the party to some extent, but they have made huge damages for themselves," Advani said in his concluding address at the National Council.

The final day saw many senior leaders using the occasion to warn the rank and file against infighting or else it would
be an "opportunity
lost."

"There was a new trend in organisation before the polls (in Rajasthan and Delhi). Everyone said nipta do (let us finish). So one tried to finish the other and subsequently the party got finished. The slogan for us this time should be jeet lo (let us win), " party general secretary Sushma Swaraj said.

The BJP's organisational secretary Ramlal Aggarwal called on party members to stand by the official candidate, "whoever he or she may be." "Don't speak ill of the groom," Aggarwal said, suggesting that the official candidates were like bridegroom and the organisation needs to stand by him for ensure his win.

"It is not an individual's victory but it is kamal ki jai (victory of the party symbol lotus.)," Agarwal added.
