Maoists on Saturday evening claimed that they would release the three abducted Bihar policemen without condition before 8 am on Sunday in view of the appeal made by their families and on humanitarian grounds.

Self-proclaimed Maoist spokesperson Avinash on Saturday night called up local mediapersons and said that the three policemen abducted by the rebels would be released on Sunday morning.

Avinash said that three abducted policemen would be released without any condition.

However, police officials in Patna said that they had no information about it.

A local reporter, who was contacted by Avinash, told rediff.com that the Maoist spokesperson said that the three abducted policemen would be set free by 8 am on Sunday.

Avinash said that the Communist Party of India-Maoist central committee took this decision.

Avinash also said that the Maoists have rejected Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar's talks offer, saying it won't influence them, the reporter said.

Earlier, Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar said that his government was ready for dialogue with the Maoists. He also said that the state government would give safe passage to the Maoists who come for talks.

The Maoists had kidnapped sub-inspectors Rupesh Kumar and Abhay Yadav, Bihar Military Police havildar Ehtesham Khan and assistant sub-inspector Lucas Tete after the encounter on Sunday.

Tete's bullet-riddled body was found on Friday after expiry of the deadline set by the ultras for swapping them with eight Maoists.
