Leader of Opposition L K Advani is upset with the developments in the Bharatiya Janata Party, on the event of the national executive to be held in New Delhi shortly.

"We don't know who is doing what. Nobody is sure of the agenda of Sudheendra  Kulkarni and some of the so-called big leaders like Jaswant Singh, who refuse to rise above the family," one of the close confidants of Advani told rediff.com.

BJP spokesman Rajeev Pratap Rudy denied at a press conference that some of the leaders of the party had demanded disciplinary action against senior leader Jaswant Singh for raising issues like selection of candidates for the Lok Sabha, link between results and awards, etc.

"Tell me who said all this. Or name the leader who has gone on record," Rudy asked when media persons raised the matter relating to letter shot off by Jaswant Singh during the core committee meeting at the party headquarters.

Former leader of opposition of the Rajya Sabha Jaswant Singh, according to party sources, was upset that his son Malvinder Singh, who contested from the Barmer constituency, did not receive the much needed party support, which resulted to his defeat.

Moreover, Jaswant Singh was initially interested in being made the deputy leader of BJP after his victory from Darjeeling constituency, but party leadership chose Sushma Swaraj. This angered the former army officer further, who stepped up his protest-campaign and decided to challenge the leadership of Advani himself.

Meanwhile, another senior BJP leader said, "The party is in a bad shape but I hope like others expect, that it would emerge stronger than ever."

"I was not here and hence I cannot say what is going on. Please excuse me," senior party leader Chandan Mitra said.
