Seven people, including a six-year-old boy, were seriously injured in a bomb blast carried out by suspected militants in Manipur’s Imphal West district on Saturday.

Police said the explosion took place at Langthanbal, about 10-km from state capital Imphal, and was targeted at security personnel passing through the area.

Security forces rushed to the spot immediately after the blast but no arrests have been made yet, police added. Official sources said that all the seven injured have been rushed to a local hospital.
