While the police claims the mail is a hoax, IT companies are taking no chances. The e-mail, which has been passed on to the city police's cyber crime wing, also talks about a plan to assassinate a top Bharatiya Janata Party leader.
'We do not want any foreign investment in India. This time no one can stop us in our mission and the attack would be executed between March 13 and 26,' warns the e-mail.
It also mentions how ill-equipped Indian security forces are to combat terrorism. 'The police department has been given sub-standard bullet-proof jackets. This helped us to kill them. All National Security Guard commandos are given the same poor quality helmets and bullet-proof jackets,' the e-mail said.
'Send the security personnel and commandos to us,' the e-mail continued, 'we'll train them and provide our guns and strong bullet-proof jackets.'
