Shah Rukh Khan not stolen from village, rules judge

Justice B B Vagyani of the Aurangabad bench of the Bombay high court rejected the plea of Malanbi Haqqani Saheb Pathan who claimed to be mother of the Hindi film star Shah Rukh Khan.

Justice Vagyani also passed strictures against the deputy sarpanch of Kopdeo Hipparga in Ahmedpur tehsil, Prakash Gorthe, and directed the authorities to issue a show-cause notice to him, asking why legal action should not be not initiated against him for issuing a fake birth certificate for Shah Rukh Khan.

Malanbi had submitted a birth certificate, issued by the deputy sarpanch, claiming Khan was born at Kopdeo Hipparga, that his name was Allasaheb Pathan and that he was missing since childhood. Khan's lawyer, Shyam Keswani, challenged the validity of the birth certificate and demanded that action be taken against both Pathan for using such a fake certificate and Gorthe for issuing one.
