Nation First: Always and Every Time

Army Day is celebrated on January 15 every year in India, in recognition of Lieutenant General (later Field Marshal) K. M. Cariappa's taking over as the first Commander-in-Chief of the Indian Army. Army Day marks a day to salute the valiant soldiers who protect our nation. The Indian Army fights adversities on borders as well as with natural calamities.

The Indian Army soldier is infused by a set of values that make the soldier willingly face a plethora of challenges and difficulties, and when the call may come, to give the ultimate sacrifice in the service of the nation. The ethos and core values of integrity, loyalty, duty, respect, selfless service, courage and honour are ingrained in all soldiers.

This gives them an unwavering will to succeed, accepting their grave responsibility and an unbridled ability to give their lives for others.
