When this Japanese model posed with a giant octopus

Japanese model and food blogger Namada decided to take photos with an 18-kg live giant Pacific octopus because she said that she really likes tentacles and always wanted to be photographed with an octopus.

To make her dream a reality, she collaborated with photographer Kazan Yamamoto.

After the shoot was over, Namada told tokyogirlsupdate.com that it was ‘really difficult because the octopus was so heavy’.

Yamamoto said there were some unexpected challenges as the octopus was alive, and because it was slippery, it was really hard to grab a hold of. And what happened to the octopus after the shoot? Well, it was cooked and eaten.

40 knives removed from cop's stomach

In an unusual case, as many as 40 knives were surgically removed from the stomach of a policeman in Gurudaspur, Punjab who claimed that he used to feel an "urge" to eat them.

In August, a team of five doctors carried out a five-hour long surgery on Surjeet Singh, 40, who is employed with Punjab Police and is posted at Tarn Taran district, at a hospital.

"He had a wild urge to consume metal. Even for us, the experienced surgeons, it was frightening," Dr Jatinder Malhotra told CNN.

"A series of ultrasounds followed by various tests, including endoscopy and CT scan, related to the stomach were carried out before the surgery as the patient was admitted in the hospital with severe weight loss, besides multiple ailments.

"In the beginning, cancer was suspected but during investigation some hard metal substances were found inside the stomach that had damaged liver and kidney and other organs," said Malhotra who led the team of doctors during the operation.

"We were so nervous... a small mistake could have taken the patient's life," Malhotra said. "In my 20 years of practice, I have never seen anything like it."

Malhotra said they found folded knives, unfolded knives and rusted and broken knives in the man's stomach.

'Silence of the Lambs' house finally sold to horror-flick fan

After struggling for almost a year, a couple from Pennsylvania finally sold the home of psychotic killer Buffalo Bill in the 1991 film The Silence of the Lambs.

Scott and Barbara Lloyd initially asked for $300,000 when they listed the house in August 2015. But they dropped the asking price from $300,000 to $249,900 earlier this year.

But ultimately, a buyer nabbed the brick house -- with its octagonal porch, backyard pool and large lawns -- for a mere $195,000. The Pittsburgh Tribune-Review first reported the sale in July.

The buyer wanted to remain anonymous, according to broker Dianne Wilk of RE/Max Select Realty, but he is a fan of the movie.

“Because of ‘The Silence of the Lambs,’ that’s what piqued his interest, and that’s how he found the home,” she told the Tribune-Review. The foyer and dining room were depicted in the film but sadly there's no dungeon pit in the basement where the killer played by Ted Levine kept his victims before killing and skinning them.

Those grisly scenes were filmed on a soundstage.

Anthony Hopkins won an Academy Award for playing Dr Hannibal Lecter, a crazed, cannibalistic psychiatrist whose macabre clues help rookie Agent Clarice Starling track down and kill Buffalo Bill in his home.

Edie Simms, a 102-year-old woman from Missouri, United States, crossed one more thing off of her bucket list when cops slapped handcuffs on her and took her for a ride in the back of a police cruiser.

Simms originally wanted to ride in a hot air balloon for her 102nd birthday, but when that fell through, officers who know her through her work at a local senior centre, asked if she would take a ride in a police car.

"I mentioned the idea for someone to ask her," Sgt John McLaughlin told InsideEdition.com. "She said she would love that but she wants to be handcuffed."

On the day she was "busted," officers wrote up a mock arrest warrant for Simms and announced she was under arrest.

Thief force-fed 48 bananas to excrete stolen gold chain

Mumbai police, in January, successfully deployed an unusual technique to retrieve a gold chain that a thief had swallowed while being pursued by officers -- they force-fed him more than 48 bananas.

The man denied snatching the chain from a woman in a Mumbai street and swallowed it in a bid to conceal his crime last week, but hospital X-rays showed the jewellery.

Doctors suggested performing an operation, but police officers decided it would be too expensive and opted instead for the bananas.

“He was fed more than 40 bananas throughout the day,” Shankar Dhanavade, a senior inspector with Mumbai police, said. “Eventually the chain was found. We made him wash and disinfect it,” the policeman said.

Booze party begins in US, ends up in Canada

About 1,500 Americans floating down a river that separates the United States from Canada had to be rescued from the water when strong rains and winds sent them illegally into Canadian territory, Reuters quoted the country's coast guard as saying on Monday.

The Americans were taking part in the annual Port Huron Float Down on Sunday in the St Clair River, which runs between the US state of Michigan and the Canadian province of Ontario.

The winds blew the flotilla of inflatable rafts and inner tubes off course and toward the Canadian shore, Reuters reported.

Some rafts deflated, spurring a rescue effort by the Canadian Coast Guard as well as federal and provincial police, coast guard spokeswoman Carol Launderville said in an email.

Most "floaters" had to be rescued from the water, with many towed to shore, according to the coast guard.

Some tried to swim back to the United States.

Trump appeared in Playboy softcore porn video?

Here is an interesting fact about United States President-elect Donald Trump.

During election campaign, BuzzFeed News uncovered a relic from Trump’s past: a softcore video documentary made in 1999 called Playboy Video Centerfold 2000.

As might be expected from the title, the video features lots of shots of naked women dancing and posing, as well as touching themselves (and each other).

Trump, though, does not do any of those things. He appear in a brief cameo in which he opens a champagne bottle with the help of some playmates and then pours it on the Playboy bunny logo.
