'Growth Story for India' round-table hosted by media baron Rupert Murdoch

This meeting has been conducted with the idea of leveraging India's 'growth story' with the media and through modern communication technologies.

Sheikh Hasina, Bangladesh Prime Minister

"After the business meeting, meeting with a neighbour and valued friend...," the PMO tweeted along with a photograph of the two leaders shaking hands.

"Dhaka, New Delhi and now New York. PM @narendramodi meets with PM Sheikh Hasina of Bangladesh for a bilateral session," tweeted MEA spokesman Vikas Swarup.

This was the third meeting between the two leaders in the recent months and came against the backdrop of settlement of the land boundary question.

 
 

Wall Street CEOs

The Prime Minister today chaired a roundtable meeting with top American CEOs from the financial sector.

"Many CEOs expressed keen interest in the Indian start-up sector, and showed willingness to invest in entrepreneurial ventures and innovative start-ups," the PMO said in a release.

Making a strong pitch for increased investment in various sectors in India, the Prime Minister outlined his vision for "Start-Up India, Stand-Up India."

He said that along with public sector and private sector, he was laying emphasis to individual start-ups and entrepreneurs – whom he referred to as the "personal sector", the release said.
