Ahmadinejad survives assassination bid: Report

In a reportedly failed assassination bid, a grenade was thrown at the convoy carrying Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad [Images] on Wednesday in Hamedan in western Iran, a report in Jerusalem Post stated.

The grenade struck one of the vehicles in a convoy accompanying the Iranian president. Ahmadinejad was not injured in the attack, the report added.

The explosion injured a few journalists who were there to cover Ahmadinejad.

The blast took place as Ahmadinejad was about to address a crowd. However, he gave his speech even after the attack, the report added.

However, Iran presidential office have denied any such assassination bid, the report stated.
