The Mumbai [Images] municipal corporation recently announced that it might be forced to supply water only on alternate days to the millions of homes in the metropolis. Residents of Delhi [Images], suffering under the dual blow of power and water shortage, recently took to the streets to voice their woes. Several states including Karnataka and Himachal Pradesh [Images] are mulling the introduction of water rationing to tide over the crisis.
