Saudi intelligence chief to visit India

January 14, 2009 17:12 IST

Saudi intelligence chief Prince Muqrim Bin Abdul Aziz Al-Saud will be visiting India in connection with the Mumbai terror attacks.

Aziz Al-Saud was in Islamabad [Images] on Wednesday for talks with top political leadership for discussions on various issues, including the tension with India following the terror attacks.

Saudi Arabia has traditionally had very close ties with Pakistan and members of the Saudi royal family have played a key role in brokering political arrangements in the country.

Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Saud Al-Faisal made a visit to India last month in the aftermath of the Mumbai attacks and called for "collective action" to counter terrorism.

More details are awaited.
