25-year-old Pinki, who left her job in a beauty parlour in Patel Nagar, was found dead with bullet injuries on the KDR Road near Jehangirpuri at around 11 pm on Sunday.

The victim and her husband Suranjit Singh were picked up from their home by Sanjeev Kumar, the owner of the beauty parlour, on Monday evening who allegedly pumped three bullets into her, a senior police official said. One bullet hit her head, the official added.

Pinki was shot at inside the car, the official said, adding her body was dumped near the Metro station by Kumar. Kumar also made her husband and the boy get out of his car, the sources said.

She was rushed to the Guru Tegh Bahadur Hospital where she was declared brought dead.

Pinki had left her job two weeks ago after a tiff with her employer and police suspect it to be the trigger for her murder. "We are investigating this angle," he said.

However, the police is surprised at the fact how the assailant managed to escape from the scene as it was a busy area. This was the second such incident in a span of ten hours.

Ankit Minocha, a 22-year-old businessman was also shot dead while one of his friends were injured on Monday when unidentified men opened fire at them near the Buddha Jayanti Park on Shanker Road in Chanakyapuri police station area at 1:30 pm.

Unidentified assailants opened fire at Minocha and his friends while returning home after meeting two Karol Bagh car dealers -- Pushkar and Sushil Arora -- who were not returning Rs 10 lakh they borrowed. Mahender, one of his friends, had lend them the money.

Police suspects hitmen hired by the car dealers to be behind the incident.
