Seeking to send a stern warning to pub attackers, the district administration has slapped showcause notices on five Sri Rama Sena activists asking why they should not be externed from the district.

Sena state convenor Prasad Attavar, Subhash Padil, Lohit Adyar, Jagadish and Ashok Shetty have been served notices in connection with the January 24 attack on the pub here in which a group attacked  girls and some others, officials sources said.

The district administration was also contemplating banning entry of Sena founder Pramod Muthalik [Images] into the district, sources said.

Attar confirmed that he has been served the notice.
