The Praja Rajyam party of film-star-turned politician Chiranjeevi [Images] has claimed that it was going to win 205 seats in Andhra Pradesh assembly in the forthcoming elections.

Party general secretary Prakala Prabhakar made the claim on the basis of a poll conducted for the party across the state. He told the media that the polls covered 35,000 voters in all Assembly constituency to reach the conclusion.

He also gave region-wise estimate of the party according to which PRP will win highest number of assembly seats 90 in coastal Andhra, 80 in Telangana and 30 in Rayala Seema. "We hope to win five seats more than this estimate", he added.

The poll also shows that the PRP candidates will poll more votes than any other party. The PRP candidates will get 50 to 60 per cent votes in sixty constituencies, 40 to 50 percent in another 60 constituencies and thirty to forty percent votes in another 60 segments, he added.

This is the first time that any political party in Andhra Pradesh has come out with such a detailed claim about its prospects in the forthcoming elections.

Meanwhile, the party founder Chiranjeevi was busy shooting for the election ads to be show on television channels, targeting both the Congress and the TDP as opportunist and corrupt parties. "Bring Change" says one of the ads with the picture of Chiranjeevi on the one side.

In another ads targeting both the Congress and the TDP, PRP reminds the people the firing on the farmers in Hyderabad under Chandrababu Naidu's [Images] rule and in Mudigonda in Khammam in 2007 under YSR rule. Both the incidents had claimed several lives.
