Former United Nations diplomat Shashi Tharoor said on Friday that he will contest the forthcoming Lok Sabha polls if he was given a chance and gave indications that his party of choice was the Congress.

"I will certainly consider if I am given a chance," the former UN Under Secretary-General told media-persons while on a visit to the renovated district Congress committee office in Palakkad, Kerala [Images].

Tharoor said his political views are in tune with that of the Congress. The Nehruvian policies and approach of the Congress had helped the nation to prosper and develop, he added.
